Equans General Manager
EQUANS is looking for an Equans General Manager to join our team in Heysham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus, paid overtime and benefits package.

The EGM’s primary overriding responsibility is Industrial Safety. Their leadership behaviours and tactical activities must put the wellbeing of their team, and everybody on the Station, above all.
Their core functional responsibility is the creation, continual development and delivery of a strategic business plan for Equans’ operations on their Station, collaboratively with the account SMT and directly aligned to the Station Director’s objectives.
Key to this is the design and delivery of the tactical operational and people processes to achieve the business plan, and though liaison with the account SMT drive a culture of continual improvement both operational and financial, based upon an engaged and safe team.
We are looking for someone to own, develop, refine and promote the operational delivery model and team, and embed safety and wellbeing mechanisms and behaviours.
Support and challenge the Equans station team to optimise their processes, productivity and performance as they adopt the TOM and continually enhance it.
Drive a culture of operational success and celebration, challenging the Equans EDF team to look beyond the agreed models and objectives to identify greater value operational opportunities for the partnership.
What will you deliver?
- Lead a positive Industrial Safety culture, above and beyond any other priority.
- Develop a clear, robust Station business plan, collaboratively with the Account SMT, that defines the resources, investment and enabling actions required to achieve it.
- Lead the Equans Station team (c100 BAU, up to c200 during outages) to achieve the objectives in the business plan efficiently, effectively, and collaboratively with EDF and other Station teams, by setting and monitoring personal and teams’ goals and objectives.
- Adopt a progressive, open, honest and visible leadership style that results in a high degree of employee engagement, makes people proud to work for Equans, and results in positive relationships with trade unions and staff forums.
- Be responsible for the Equans financial accounts on the Station, achieving the financial targets set and achieving the commercial goals agreed, particularly in relation to variable work and project opportunities. A key element of this is growing the scale and scope of Equans services, and effective appointment and management of subcontract and supply chain partners.
- Develop and maintain a very strong collaborative and engaged relationship with the Station Director and their team, aiming to be seen by the Station Director as a virtual member of their SMT, resulting in the achievement of the agreed NPS targets.
- Ensure that the service is sustainable, resilient, and compliant both legally and procedurally.

Strategic Impact 5: Finance & commerciality: it is critical that our delivery model is aligned to the business cases that support it, and that our activities, structures and spending are appropriately funded, and that our cash and margin positions are optimised. Key to this is leading the station team to continually optimise the commercial value and benefit for both Equans and EDF from both core and project work, ensuring sustained commercial value for Equans.
Strategic planning: they will develop and maintain a detailed long-term roadmap of operational activity to ensure that our service delivery on their station meets and exceeds our Client’s requirements, including the identification and management of risks.
In addition, Customer relationship management: it is critical that they build and maintain highly effective relationships with EDF stakeholders at every level on the station, to allow their ideas and proposals to flourish.

Who are we looking for?
- Degree in Engineering or Business Management is preferred.
- Extensive years’ experience including progressively increasing management responsibility plus meaningful operations expertise as well as direct sales and customer/client engagement.
- Experience in Nuclear, Coal or Gas fields.
- Understanding of financial statements and operations management.
- A commitment to a safety conscious work environment and nuclear quality compliance.

What will you deliver?

Actively participate in the operation and control of all engineering planned maintenance schemes and undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities to plant.

Undertake fault finding and rectification on refrigeration and air conditioning systems and their controls.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commission and test in accordance with published procedures.

Carry out emergency repairs as required (which may require overtime).

Monitor the building services and report defects to the Technical Supervisors.

Who are we looking for?
- Recognised Refrigeration Apprenticeship – HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent experience.
- City & Guilds award in 2079-11 F-Gas and OD regulations or equivalent
- Computer literate with good skills in word, excel, email, internet etc.
- Good knowledge of SHEQ procedures, risk assessments, work permits etc.
- Fully conversant with all major manufactures systems and equipment
- Able to work on own initiative
- Be willing to provide out of hours cover when required
- Customer focused, confident in their skills and a confident communicator
- Competent in fault finding and diagnostics and procurement of spares
- Be willing to complete role specific training on and off site
- Maintains and develops knowledge, capability and competence in latest engineering standards and techniques

🎯 Votre challenge à nos côtés ?
Accompagner le portefeuille de chantier LEAN de la prise de connaissance des organisations à la réception des transformations, dans le respect permanent des règles de sécurité, de qualité, de satisfaction client et de performance financière :
- Réaliser des diagnostics opérationnels, déterminer et suivre les plans de progrès générateurs de gains, de valeur ajoutée, de réduction de gaspillages, en appui des équipes
- Mettre en œuvre le grand standard de planification collaborative (LPS) du Lean, avec une forte orientation terrain, performance et réduction de la pénibilité
- Fiabiliser les flux de logistique chantier/contrat afin d’améliorer de façon significative la satisfaction client
- Organiser et coordonner le déploiement « Lean » et proposer les objectifs, feuilles de route et plans d’actions qui en découlent (animer des groupes de travail, des chantiers et des actions de sensibilisation ou de formation)
- Accompagner des équipes à la mise en œuvre des plans de progrès, dans un mode de fonctionnement « Lean » (bottom-up, intelligence collective, résolution de problèmes, pérennisation, etc.)
- Être en appui sur le plan de performance des différentes composantes (ressources humaines, organisation, outils, méthodes, business, logistique, technique, pilotage)
- Suivre les clients internes pour garantir l’atteinte des objectifs et ancrer durablement les standards Lean Equans France
Garantir la mise en œuvre des règles Sécurité & Santé :
- Garantir la mise en œuvre des règles du Groupe sur l’ensemble des interventions
- Aider les opérationnels dans la prise en compte des règles et obligations au quotidien
