Contracts Manager

EQUANS is looking for a Contracts Manager to join our team in Hatfield, managing multiple sites across London and South East. This is a full time, permanent role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.

This role is to work in our Places and Communities division in the refurbishment team, working for local authority and housing association clients carrying out planned preventative maintenance.

Since its creation in 2019, the division (R3) has grown from just 4 directly employed staff, to 231 – and we’re looking to expand further. With a workload of over £50m already secured in R3 alone for 2023.

We are there for looking for someone who has refurbishment Contracts Management experience but is also looking to join a growing and welcoming team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cladding remediation as well as external works, managing contracts circa 6 – 10 million.

In return we offer flexible working office hours, giving you the option to start early or finish later and the option to work from home one day per week when not on site.

What will you deliver?

 

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and ensure that they are followed by all personnel involved in the schemes under their control
  • To take ownership of all aspects of each project under their control from estimating handover through to completion
  • Provide project direction, focus and consistency across a number of schemes
  • Ensure staff receive adequate training to carry out their role on the project
  • Assess exposure to the business for any claims from clients/consultants and residents and ensure the relevant corrective action is taken

Senior Site Manager

Commercial Assistant

Shift Plant Operator

EQUANS are looking for a Shift Plant Operator for our BBPL contract in Birmingham. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

General Overview:

  • This position of Shift Plant Operator is for a new build Energy from Waste facility located in Birmingham. Working directly under the Shift Team Leader the post holder will work as a member of a small shift team and will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Biomass Energy facility. The Shift Plant Operator will be involved in working with, and assisting in improving, the site systems and will have responsibility for areas of site maintenance as directed.
  • The Shift Plant Operator may be required to deputise for the Shift Team Leader during periods of extended absence, to manage and deliver plant operations. 

 

Impact:

The position will involve assisting with the safe and efficient control of the energy recovery process, coordination and supervision of subcontractors and front-end loader drivers. The role will assist with EQUANS’s commitment to the production of low carbon electricity as part of the wider zero carbon transition whilst delivering a high-quality engineering and operation service to the plant’s owners

 

Complexity:

  • A challenging role, that is critical to the successful delivery of the long-term operational contract, key duties include
  • Operating the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Carrying out plant-related routine duties to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level.
  • Application of the safe systems of work at progressive levels up to Safety Controller.
  • When deputising for the Shift Team Leader, be responsible for the preparation and issuing permits under the onsite permit-to-work system.
  • Plant & control system first line fault diagnosis and reporting.
  • Planning, organising and supervising certain maintenance activities.
  • Assisting Site Engineers on projects and outage preparation
  • General maintenance of plant dependent on individual’s competence
  • Responsibility for producing and maintaining identified site documentation and procedures
  • Using a SCADA system, you will be required to start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, water treatment plant and other balance of plant
  • Performing plant walk rounds and daily checks to ensure equipment is operating correctly and efficiently
  • Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff
  • Keep operational logs and plant records as requested by the Plant Manager.
  • Undertake any miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Shift Team Leader.
  • Carry out daily boiler water sampling and chemical analysis. Complete remedial actions as detailed by Shift Team Leader.
  • Carry out daily fuel and syngas sampling and logging of results. Complete remedial actions as detailed by Shift Team Leader.
  • At all times contribute to the business objectives for the safe and efficient operation of the Energy from Waste facility.
  • Promote a safety conscious attitude toward operational activities through sound safe systems of work principles and accurate and timely reporting of incidents.

 

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Competent in all aspects of CHP or power plant operations.
  • IT literate demonstrating good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • ISOH or NEBOSH qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK or EU driver’s licence
  • Front end loader certifications are desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience in an engineering role at a power generation/energy from waste/industrial process facility.
  • Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation
  • Experience with a permit-to-work system and also with Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
  • Excellent communication skills and team mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The willingness to undertake training to better understand the plant, processes and procedures involved in operating a power station

Commercial Solar PV Design Manager

EQUANS are recruiting for a Commercial Solar PV Design Manager to be based Nationwide. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.

We are seeking a Solar PV Design Manager to support the development of an extensive pipeline of solar power plant projects in the UK. This role has the opportunity to work on the engineering and design development of a variety of solar PV and battery storage solutions, working alongside a team of in-house specialist engineers and outsourced consultants.

Equans’s Solar EPC business design, install, commission and maintain commercial, industrial and large-scale solar PV installations. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables renewable energy suppliers, businesses, and public sector organisations to reduce costs and their carbon footprint and generate power into private networks. Our growing pipeline of projects include Ground and Roof Mounted solutions, as well as Floating and Car Port Solar installations and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

General Overview

The main purpose of the role is to lead design from outline business case through to construction of Solar PV / Battery Storage Systems. An understanding of the bidding process and the key deliverables throughout this process will be of advantage along with knowledge of the relevant electrical regulations/standards although not essential. To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy and ensure all employees reporting to you do the same and being responsible for ensuring that SHEQ requirements are upheld to the highest of standards at all times.

Key Accountabilities

  • Agree appointment and scope of service for Design Team alongside Pre-construction Manager
  • Review design management protocols with Design Coordinator / Assistant Design Coordinator.
  • Clear communication of expectations for design deliverables with designers
  • Commission required surveys/reports,
  • Review all design issues relating to GA’s
  • Review compliance with all relevant regulations/legislation
  • Liaise with Suppliers and key Stakeholders
  • Liaison with the Pre-Construction Manager for commercial costing activities
  • Liaison with the operational teams regarding buildability and logistics

What will you deliver?

  • Monitor and report job progress against the programme to the Project Manager and Contracts Manager; produce site progress reports.
  • Assist the management of project specific preliminaries.
  • Manage the safe storage and co-ordination of materials.

Votre challenge à nos côtés : 

 

Rattaché à l’agence de Nantes et en lien avec un Chargé d'Affaires expérimenté, vous pilotez les études et participez au suivi de nos projets CVC dans le secteur du nucléaire. 

 

A ce titre, vous assurez les missions principales suivantes :

 

  • Analyser les besoins du client et être force de proposition sur les aspects techniques et économiques,
  • Participer aux études techniques de chiffrage et assurer la réalisation des projets en garantissant leur maîtrise technique et financière,
  • Participer au pilotage du personnel opérationnel d’études et de chantier dans les phases de réalisation des projets et affaires suivis,
  • Consulter et choisir les sous-traitants et matériels en collaboration avec le service achats,
  • Réaliser les commandes d'approvisionnement, la gestion et le suivi des études,
  • Réaliser les retours d’expérience au cours et à l’issue des chantiers et participer aux actions correctives inhérentes,
  • Participer aux démarches de prospection et aux suivis des actions commerciales auprès de clients industriels ciblés, en liaison avec les équipes commerciales,
  • S’assurer de l’application des procédures internes qualité, santé-sécurité et environnement.

 

Des déplacements sur nos différents chantiers sont à prévoir.

Votre profil :  

 

Issu(e) d’un diplôme d'Ingénieur en énergie, vous possédez d’une expérience au sein d’une entreprise d’installation CVC : 3 années minimum comme ingénieur d'études et souhaitez évoluer. Ou vous occupez déjà un poste de chargé d’affaires adjoint et souhaitez changer d’environnement.

 

Vous avez une première expérience en HVAC (suivi de chantier/affaire) et êtes intervenus sur des installations pour des clients industriels, idéalement dans le domaine du nucléaire.

Vous démontrez des capacités de planification, d’organisation, de suivi technique et financier d'une affaire.

 

Rigoureux, dynamique, doté de qualités relationnelles et de coordination, vous souhaitez développer vos compétences au sein d’un environnement en forte évolution.
