Mobile Plumbing Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mobile Plumbing Engineer to join our team working within the portfolio of the Birmimgham Schools contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Carry out planned preventable maintenance (PPM) on plumbing, and all water systems; plant and equipment in accordance with the PPM programme.
- Respond in a timely manner to breakdown requests
- Be proactive in reporting faults to equipment, buildings and fittings
- Assist with installation works involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works
- Work in accordance with Work Instructions, Safe Working Practices and Method Statements ensuring relevant paperwork is completed in an accurate timely manner
- Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers’ guidelines
- Carry out on call duties as part of a rota
- To ensure all areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the working day

Job summary:
Under the authority of the Facility Manager, Building Operator performs diverse manual tasks concerning building maintenance and operations.
Responsabilities:
With guidance, training and direction from co-workers and the direct supervisor:
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance routines as assigned.
- Interact with and direct external contractors as required.
- Assist in maintaining the facilities in order to provide comfort to all occupants;
- Complete scheduled Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks within agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Carry out daily inspections in the buildings.
- Receive inquiry calls from client’s personnel, record in CMMS and take appropriate actions.
- Support in small projects and minor repairs, such as patching and painting, tiling, flooring and minor plumbing and electrical repairs, (Non energized), carpentry and furniture moves.
- Maintenance of all types of doors and their hardware.
- Minor plumbing such as unclogging drains and faucet repairs.
- General cleanup of the work areas and technical rooms.
- Under minimal direction, work directly from the work orders provided from the CMMS.
- Use hand and power tools and other equipment, as necessary, to complete assignments.
- Follows all company safety and security procedures.
- Enter and complete work orders utilizing the mobile CMMS provided.
- Completes all other tasks required by his immediate supervisor.

Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience in a commercial facility maintenance role;
- Possess a mechanical aptitude and demonstrate the ability to use hand and power tools
- Able to use handheld portable devices to process work orders within CMMS;
- Able to move and lift loads. The candidate needs to satisfy the physical activities of the job;
- Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces and heights up to 50 feet;
- Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings;

Facilities Co-ordinator
Equans is looking for a Facilities Co-ordinator to join our team at Heysham 1 Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role will report into the Hard Services Manager and the Project Manager in allocating work from assignment to completion.
You will form part of a small team responsible for in-house engineering and oversight of specialist sub-contract partners. The team ensure the site remains compliant and building users are afforded a great working environment. Maintenance Assistant

- Support the Technical Operations Team Manager to ensure the Integrity of all critical systems – HV, LV, UPS, Water Systems, Pressure Systems, LOLER to current Legislative, Regulatory and Statutory requirements.
- Support the Technical Operations Team Manager and Technical Compliance Managers to ensure appropriate levels of AP, CP and RP personal are trained, qualified and experienced in each required discipline. Additionally, to ensure a suitable, sufficient and lean on call rota is managed, maintained and communicated, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures in order to demonstrate appropriate financial and budgetary compliance.

We are looking to recruit a Carpenter to build and repair wooden and related structures. Enhanced duties may include removing walls, installing partitions and steps, altering rooms or adding to existing structures using hand and power tools in addition to any other general duties assigned.
What will you deliver?
- Work closely with other skilled operatives and supervisors – providing cover and support as required
- Develop effective working relationships with appropriate parties
- Ability to analyse data and plans to ensure accuracy
- Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are handled accurately and on time therefore ensuring we deliver a high standard of work to the business and client.
- Identification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
- Appropriate risk assessments undertaken on all work
- Rectifies problems where appropriate (ensuring that the correct procedures are followed)
- Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner
- Interacting positively with the client and their representatives, proactively sharing information with others
- Ensures work area is protected using appropriate barriers/signs

Who are we looking for?
- City & Guilds / NVQ level 2 minimum carpentry course
- Broad knowledge of plant & building services
- Ability to follow work instructions (work order cards and permits to work)
- Awareness of risk assessments and working safely with equipment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans & follow both verbal and written work instructions
- Ability to erect and work from ladders and scaffolds safely
- Ability to safely work at height and in varying environments that may contain dust or fumes
