Mobile Maintenance Operative

EQUANS are recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Operative to be based in Bristol. This is a permanent full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

General Overview:

  • To carry out all PPM and Reactive repairs, as necessary across Health Care sites in Bristol and Oxford
  • Liaise with the helpdesk in relation to Reactive Work Orders
  • Responsible for minor installations and maintenance of site Mechanical & Electrical Systems.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and report diligently.
  • Responsible for all record keeping, control of sub-contractors and raising and issuing of safety documentation as required.
  • Ability to work in a customer focused environment where quality and image is very important.
  • Ensure any parts required are clearly and accurately stated.
  • Ensure that any difficulties encountered on maintenance/engineering activities are reported to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
  • Ensure all record keeping functions are completed on a daily basis or as required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Understanding of company procedures.
  • Understanding of escalation procedures.
  • To be available for out of hours call out, weekend working depending on production and business requirements.
  • RAMS & PTW working knowledge and experience
  • All PPE and Uniform, Mobile Phone, and specialised tools will be supplied.

 

Impact:

  • This is a key and critical role within a team responsible for maintaining the operational and commercial delivery criteria to the Customer within a Healthcare setting
  • Managing workloads will be critical to success as will the regular analysis of reactive breakdowns to ensure route causes are identified and eliminated to successfully achieve KPI’s.
  • Working to a high standard of Building Maintenance on site.
  • Produce high quality reports of their findings along with estimates and sourcing of parts as required.
  • The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so a smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others is required.

Managing Quantity surveyor

EQUANS are recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to be based in London SE16 7DW. This is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of all projects within the Division in order to control and maximise the company’s profitability, protect the company’s legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues.

This is to include managing all commercial resources on the projects, ensuring applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms and also ensuring sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with our contractual obligations and Commitments to Subcontractors. 

In addition, ensuring cost reports and the like are managed, completed on time and monitored together with overseeing all relevant commercial reporting activity necessary within the division. Management of the income of the Company in the division and increase profits by good surveying practise without compromising Health & Safety on each site.

 

What will you deliver?

 

 

  • To manage the commercial teams, and where applicable operation staff as the Senior member of staff in the division or works stream.
  • To take overall responsibility and accountability for the commercial elements on a number of contracts (including day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting)
  • Manage commercial input and assist the Operations Manager with pre-start details. Attend pre-start meetings with the client as necessary to ensure smooth project set up and full knowledge of the project to manage it through to completion.
  • Review contracts for sub-contractors and authorise in line with businesses profit plan and targets according to DLA authorisation level and issue to the accounts team.
  • Assist with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work.
  • Review and sign-off all QS documentation (i.e. client invoices, commercial reporting, CVRs, etc) and issue for posting to supply chain
  • Complete a monthly cost valuation report for designated projects and ensure the team manage receipt of / requests for payment in a timely manner to ensure sufficient cash flow management for the Client and the group, and the supply chain in line with contracts.
  • Manage sub-contractor orders, appointments, accounts and variation accounts; measure progress, valuations, final accounts, and retention release ensuring receipt of payment in a timely manner for all designated schemes in line with the main contract and sub-contract data base
  • Ensure the company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by any contractual or financial arrangement, and ensuring both the company and the client is fully advised of all commercial matters at all times and put measures in place to rectify any concerns highlighted
  • Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information (collateral warranties, PCG’s, etc)
  • Manage monthly applications and sub-contractor accounts in line with legal obligations.
  • Management of the day to day cost control expenditure, monitoring, and reporting; reconciling cost/value reports and forecasting expenditure using this information to maximisation profit and efficiency
  • Manage contractual correspondence in regard to delays, non-conformance, etc
  • Sufficiently manage the financial aspects of the project and ensure the correct safety measures / equipment is accounted for and used at all times
  • To liaise with all staff, clients, consultants and residents in a professional manner to build client relationships helping future business development
  • To liaise with the Estimating team to ensure future opportunities are positively actioned to convert into tangible wins. Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future opportunities.
  • Review contract tender conditions in parallel with the businesses Legal Counsel and ensure that where discrepancies are identified these are recorded and administered at tender stage
  • In conjunction with Divisional Director, prepare monthly accounts/reports and submit for approval by the Finance Director.
  • Liaise with the Operational Management teams over contractual issues and take action as required
  • Act as commercial champion for the division and attend internal and external service meetings to ensure information is circulated to managers accordingly (i.e. Supply chain Committees etc.) and that commercial impact is considered for all projects
  • Time management; to ensure deadlines are met as per monthly reporting timetable.
  • Assist in ensuring the Company is in line with Health & Safety procedures, to protect your safety and others around you
  • Manage the recruitment of commercial considering type of workstream and skills required
  • To manage, coach and develop the team effectively in order to deliver the highest standards of service and maximise individual/team potential (including PDRs, disciplinaries, absence reviews, etc)

Quantity Surveyor

EQUANS are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to be based in Manchester at the Manchester Joint Hospital . This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

The Manchester Joint Hospitals contract is based on a campus site located to the south of the City Centre, the primary focus of the works is to deliver asset replacement works (lifecycle delivery) and variation projects across the sites. The works are undertaken across busy hospitals to ensure that the facilities are maintained to the required standard and within the budgets set.

The post holder will be a construction experienced Quantity Surveyor used to working as part of a project delivery team within healthcare environments.

What will you deliver?

  • Keep project tracker up to date working with Project Coordinator to ensure information is accurate and up to date and available for financial planning and reporting

EQUANS are recruiting for a Car Parking Officer to be based at Burnley General Teaching Hospital. This is a permanent full-time role working a shift pattern of 3 days on and 3 days off. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

  • To perform daily checks as required to the pay and display machines
  • To undertake basic maintenance and carry out minor repairs on site such as ticket replenishment, clearing coin jams etc

This role is working within the Energy Intelligence Team under the direction of the  Head of Energy Intelligence; who will support and develop the right candidate to become a leading industry specialist in this area.  You will be a central player in the day to day energy analysis activities of the business supporting operations and engineering offering a varied and dynamic role. 

 

What will you deliver?

 

  • Design and build energy optimisation models which integrate with the operational planning and financial process. Comparing energy purchase, use and consumption to deliver maximum efficiency and best value using Microsoft Excel and bespoke software (e.g. Energy Pro)
  • Ongoing analysis and modelling of the energy schemes trends and performance, diagnosing and recommendations for rectification to ensure that energy is delivered consistently and efficiently to meet contractual requirements
  • Report on energy efficiency and  financial performance of energy sales across a range of sites.
  • Identify adverse trends and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Maintain and develop data collection and processing methods to allow effective internal and external reporting
  • Research into low carbon energy systems such a heat pumps, biomass, cooling systems and batteries, etc.

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Motivated and professional energy analyst who wishes to commit to a role which will provide both opportunity and challenge
  • Qualified to a minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Discipline 
  • An understanding of the principals of district energy and CHP
  • Heating and cooling system design including a range of generation system (CHP, Biomass, Boilers etc..) would be an advantage
  • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks
  • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Knowledge of Controls, VSDs and Metering Systems would be an advantage 
  • Member of a professional Institute and working towards chartership would be an advantage

Site Manager

EQUANS are recruiting for a Site Manager to be based in Kings Yard, London. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is an annual salary of £45,000 to £50,000 plus bonus and benefits package.

 

What will you deliver?

 

  • To manage the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil through a diverse set of project manager and coordinate with the Engineers, Designers, planners, QS & SHEQ.
  • Ensuring all deliverables are to standard and specification.
  • Manage the project to ensure all contractual aspects between EQUANS, clients and Contractors, ensuring the compliance of all parties, particularly with respect to completion of  Project prior to programmed operational start date.

Asset Adoptions and Commissioning Manager

EQUANS are recruiting for an Asset Adoptions and Commissioning Manager to join our Urban Energy Team, the role will be Hybrid between home and our office in Kings Yard, London.  This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £55,00 to £60,000, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

> The 40 year concession providing heating, cooling and electricity at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park;

The successful candidate will work within the Asset Adoption and Improvement team, liaising closely with other departments within the organisation, you will be responsible for commissioning activities on new projects for large district energy schemes as well as witnessing and inspecting new assets being adopted into an operational environment to ensure they operate and comply with EQUANS standards and liaising with clients in managing the process.    
This role will demand a high standard of technical, operational and systems excellence. Understanding of the commissioning process, commercial and compliance elements of the successful operation of large scale energy schemes.

 

What will you deliver?

 

  • Manage the adoption team and process for accepting and ensuring 3rd party installations and assets meet EQUANS performance and design standards while engaging and managing Clients and Key Stakeholders.
  • Ensure that new projects are commissioned correctly in accordance with EQUANS Standards. 
  • Manage contract resources to assist in project commissioning.
  • Assist the projects team in managing the commissioning process of complex systems in the form of commissioning manager
  • Assist with energy system performance investigations to identify improvements to optimize.
  • To investigate and identify the root cause of plant performance degradation and recommend/implement solutions. 
  • Provide technical support to the project and operational teams.
  • Drive and maintain a high standard in Health and Safety
  • Planning and programming of works
  • Ensuring the quality and processes used within EQUANS for commissioning and adoptions are complete
  • Ensuring the quality management of the delivery of commissioning and adoptions are delivered

  • Knowledge of the CIBSE, Electrical and UK regulatory Standards
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders and clients directly
  • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks
  • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Chartership status from a respective institute would be an advantage
