Mechanical Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a Nationwide basis. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum dependent upon skills and experience, a company vehicle and benefits package.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing guidance on management of installed assets on the various contracts/sites, advising the site teams on implementation of best practice to deliver continuous improvement in asset management and assisting the site teams in improving plant reliability, availability, and efficiency whilst minimising costs.
What will you deliver?
- Provide support to the site teams in reviewing technical solutions from suppliers
- Ensure that the site teams are providing the highest level of asset management they can on installed plant and as such will be supporting the site teams in contract delivery
- Involved in specifying, reviewing and acceptance testing of plant up to a value of £1M and overseeing plant repairs up to a value of £1M, as well as providing project management or engineering support on projects up to a value of £2.5M
- Undertake multiple simultaneous assignments supporting the activities of the business unit across the UK sites. They will also need to prioritise and manage various technical assignments at different points in their respective project lifecycles

Mechanical Craftperson
EQUANS are recruiting for a Mechanical Craftsperson to be based at the Queen Alexandria Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £32,500 to £34,500 plus a shift allowance of £3,372 per annum. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the Portsmouth Hospital Trust for the service provider.
- Undertake any training as required
- Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post
- After suitable training and guidance diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex equipment in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’s) and other specialised hospital equipment.
- Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that is outside core trade.
- To carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response.
- Work in highly unpleasant working conditions, unblocking drains and sewers, which include biological hazards of body fluids and noxious fumes.
- To work safely on steam and hot water systems
- To always observe statutory and other relevant requirements those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations.

Mechanical Engineer
EQUANS is recruiting for a number of Mechanical Engineers to be based on the Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals contract. This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum dependent upon skills and experience, in addition you will also receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- To undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection of mechanical building services. All in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance.
- Represent EQUANS in a respectful and professional manner.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and associated building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training.
- Respond in a timely manner to ad-hoc breakdown requests as identified by supervisor / manager or as a minimum, as per site contract.
- Assist in Carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
- Assist in Carrying out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment.

Project Engineer Waterprojecten
Dit ga je doen als Project Engineer Waterprojecten
Als Project Engineer Waterprojecten ga jij aan de slag met het ontwerpen van verschillende water gerelateerde installaties bij diverse klanten van Equans. Dit kunnen industriële klanten zijn die procesinstallaties nodig hebben voor o.a. proceswater, demiwater, ultra-puur water maar kunnen ook waterschappen of drinkwaterbedrijven zijn die gericht zijn op waterzuivering of drinkwatervoorziening.
In de functie van Project Engineer Piping bij Equans ben je verantwoordelijk voor het volledige ontwerp van deze water gerelateerde installaties. Deze ontwerpen maak je samen met jouw team van engineers binnen de discipline Piping, welke je coacht en motiveert om gestelde doelen te behalen. Daarnaast zorg je voor een engineeringspakket dat klaar is voor de uitvoering (“construction driven engineering”). Bij Equans worden de projecten namelijk gerealiseerd door jouw eigen collega’s. Ten slotte ben je de brug tussen de klant en jouw eigen team, denkt proactief mee met de klanten en fungeert als (technische) vraagbaak voor zowel jouw teamleden, de klant maar ook de collega’s van de uitvoering.
Je bent in deze functie verantwoordelijk voor:
- Het ontwerpen van verschillende water gerelateerde installaties binnen de industrie of specifieke projecten voor verschillende waterschappen en drinkwaterbedrijven. Je krijgt bijvoorbeeld de opdracht voor het uitwerken van een complete waterkundige procesinstallatie of een gedeelte hiervan. Het ontwerp kan plaatsvinden in de verschillende projectfases “concept, basic en detail engineering”. Aan jou dus de uitdaging om de wensen van de klant te vertalen naar concrete ontwerpen.
- Jij zorgt ervoor dat er een definitief ontwerp gemaakt wordt dat voldoet aan de wensen en eisen van de klant. Daarbij heb je een scherp oog voor veiligheid, duurzaamheid, uitvoerbaarheid en goed onderhoud kunnen plegen aan de installatie. Jouw project kenmerkt zich door een goede focus op projectbeheersing (kosten, kwaliteit en tijd).
- Realisatie van de projecten samen met collega engineers. Een sterk team waarbij jij, als specialist, je collega's motiveert. Ook overleg je geregeld met de opdrachtgever en de projectleider van het project.
- Je bent in staat om de behoefte van de klant te vertalen naar een concreet uitvoeringsontwerp. Hierbij verdeel je het werk en coacht de Engineers en Modelleurs in jouw team om de gestelde doelen te halen. Hierbij houd je rekening met de persoonlijke ontwikkelingsbehoeften van jouw teamleden en benut je eventueel hun specialisme.
Jouw werkomgeving
Je komt te werken in een enthousiaste club engineers welke bezig zijn met diverse uitdagende projecten die verschillend in grootte zijn maar altijd veel diepgang op het gebied van techniek bevatten. Als Project Engineer Waterprojecten stuur je een team van engineers aan en zorgt dat de projecten soepel verlopen. Het team kent een gezonde mix van ervaren en jonge engineers en wordt gekenmerkt door een open, eerlijke en familiaire sfeer. Ze willen samen de klanten ontzorgen en er is een hoge mate van teamgevoel. Binnen de afdeling is veel kennis aanwezig en de teamleden staan allemaal open voor het delen van deze kennis.
Daarnaast bepaal jij in overleg met je leidinggevende jouw leerdoelen en krijg je persoonlijke begeleiding om deze doelen te halen. Binnen Equans vinden we het naast deze begeleiding ook belangrijk dat jij als techneut je vakkennis op peil houdt en kun je door middel van cursussen en opleidingen jouw kennis vergroten en jezelf door ontwikkelen als engineer of richting een andere functie.
Dit breng je mee
- Je hebt een HBO-opleiding in de richting Werktuigbouwkunde afgerond.
- Je hebt ervaring als Project Engineer binnen het vakgebied Piping en Equipment en hebt ervaring met water gerelateerde projecten.
- Je bent in staat om een basic design op te stellen en dit samen met jouw team te vertalen naar een detailontwerp. Hierbij ben je in staat om het overzicht te bewaken.
- Je werkt graag in teamverband om samen met je collega’s goede resultaten neer te zetten en beschikt over een sterk verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel.
- Je bent in staat om leiding te geven aan een team van Engineers en Modelleurs en coacht, motiveert en begeleidt deze teamleden bij hun werkzaamheden.

- Je bent communicatief vaardig en beheerst de Nederlandse taal goed.

Piping Engineer
Dit ga je doen als Piping Engineer
Als Piping Engineer ga jij aan de slag met het ontwerpen van verschillende industriële installaties bij diverse klanten van Equans welke actief zijn in de (lichte) industrie en de petrochemie. Je werkt vanuit ons kantoor in Maastricht-Airport maar projecten bevinden zich door heel Limburg. Als Piping Engineer ontwerp je procesinstallaties of constructies, maak je de onderliggende berekeningen en verzorg je ontwerpen die klaar zijn voor de uitvoering.
In de functie van Piping Engineer bij Equans ben je verantwoordelijk voor het volledige ontwerp van procesinstallaties gericht op onze eigen uitvoering (“construction driven engineering”). Je bent in deze functie verantwoordelijk voor:
- Werken aan een grote verscheidenheid in opdrachten binnen zowel de lichte als zware industrie. Je krijgt bijvoorbeeld de opdracht voor het uitwerken van een complete werktuigbouwkundige procesinstallatie of een gedeelte hiervan. Het ontwerp kan plaatsvinden in de verschillende projectfases “concept, basic en detail engineering”. Aan jou dus de uitdaging om de wensen van de klant te vertalen naar concrete ontwerpen.

- Je kunt zelfstandig piping routings en lay-outs maken en bent bekend met het maken van isometrische leidingtekeningen.

Mechanical Engineer
Equans is looking for a number of Mechanical Engineer's to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on a permanent basis. These are full-time roles working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Involved with the maintenance and minor works service covering a wide and varied range of mechanical equipment servicing large industrial units such as dual fired boilers and heating and ventilation distribution equipment
- Working on all mechanical equipment throughout the Hospital that comprises of heating equipment (pumps, control valves, radiators), ventilation equipment (fans, heating/cooling coils, Humidification), domestic hot water equipment (calorifiers, safety devices), compressors, manifolds for medical gases and building management system control equipment
- Work involves the use of analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop fixed equipment, portable electrical equipment, welding equipment, emergency generators, medical gas equipment (patient use) suction units, geared drives
- Undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW /LTHW pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations

Decontamination Engineer
EQUANS are recruiting for a Decontamination Engineer to be based at the Queen Alexandria Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Mobile Mechanical Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 42 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
Working directly to the Technical Supervisors, the post holder will have the required skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of mechanical engineering services and building plant as part of a flexible maintenance team, including specialist subcontractors to deliver work to the highest of standards for our clients.
The main responsibilities include efficiently and effectively performing engineering maintenance of all relevant assets. Work will be assigned from a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule or in response to a reactive work order raised by our client representatives or our own personnel on site. All planned and reactive tasks will be managed through to completion, including fault diagnosis and sourcing parts where applicable. Must be able to demonstrate that awareness of best working practices and that these are followed at all times.
Working as part of a wider M&E team, there may be a requirement to undertake other tasks that may not be specifically related to mechanical systems.
What will you deliver?

- Actively participate in the operation and control of all engineering planned maintenance schemes and undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities to plant and non-medical equipment.
- Undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, low pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems. Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commission and test in accordance with published procedures.Complete all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations.
Complete all Task/Risk Assessment sheets relating to work. - Use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with Equans Guidelines and Controls e.g. Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances.
- Carry out emergency repairs as required (which may require overtime).
- Obligation to undertake training where necessary to learn new techniques and technology.
- Understand the relationship of other maintenance crafts to this role.
PLEASE NOTE: This roles working hours are rolling 2 days, 2 nights 4 off. 4 days out of 8

Static General Maintenance Operative
EQUANS are recruiting for a Static General Maintenance Operative on the HMCTS contract to cover sites in Leeds and West Yorkshire. This is a permanent full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. This will include Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include:
- Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
- Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
- Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
- Inspect/replace lamps / tubes
- Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
- Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
- Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
- Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
- Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
- Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
- Carry out reactive / Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
- Escorting contractors

Qualifications
- Would be desirable if you hold an NVQ (or similar) in either Plumbing, Carpentry or Decorating Services.
- Demonstrable experience in either capentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment.
- Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques.
- Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g tap flushing.

Le Programme d’Acquisition de Services Énergétiques (PASE) est un partenariat public-privé majeur et innovateur qui consiste à la production d’énergie thermique pour un groupe d’une centaine de bâtiments publics et privés en utilisant des sources renouvelables. Ce projet s’étire sur 35 ans. L’imprimerie nationale de Hull qui produit présentement de la vapeur haute pression ainsi que de l’eau glacée, prévoit exécuter un virage majeur dans les prochaines années vers la production d’eau chaude basse température de grande capacité. Responsabilités
Effectuer l’opération, l'entretien préventif et les réparations des systèmes électromécaniques de la centrale thermique de l’imprimerie nationale de Hull :
- Voir à la propreté des équipements mécaniques incluant: le nettoyage, la peinture et toute autre mesure préventive;
- Maintenir les services de la centrale opérationnels (vapeur, air comprimé, eau glacée et eau chaude);
- Effectuer les analyses d’eau et de vapeur et effectuer les ajustements nécessaires;
- Maintenir un standard de santé et sécurité en exécutant son travail;
- Effectuer le suivi des travaux auprès des entrepreneurs externes pour l'entretien des équipements;
- Répondre aux appels de service des bâtiments clients quant à la livraison des services;
- Faire des recommandations à son supérieur immédiat concernant l’amélioration de l’opération des systèmes ainsi que la qualité et la sécurité du milieu de travail;
- Diagnostiquer les problèmes de fonctionnement des équipements sous sa responsabilité;
- Effectuer les rondes quotidiennes et exécuter les tâches reliées au système d’entretien préventif et correctif en place;
- Participer au service de garde sur appel en rotation avec ses collègues MMFs;
- Toute autre tâche connexe requise par ses fonctions ou demandée par son supérieur.
Exigences :
- Être autorisé à travailler au Canada;
- Apte à se qualifier à une enquête de sécurité et à un examen médical;
- Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) ou professionnelles et/ou formation dans une discipline connexe à l’emploi;
- Certificat de mécanicien de machines fixes: Classe 3 en chauffage, Classe A en réfrigération;
- Trois (3) à cinq (5) ans d’expérience en tant que mécanicien de machines fixes.
- Autonomie; En mesure de travailler de façon autonome et en équipe.
