We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Electrician with HV/LV AP qualifications to join our estates team based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.  This is a permanent full-time position working from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. 

Key Activities:

  • Reporting to the Technical Services Manager
  • To act as a lead technician for the site providing a thorough understanding of electrical building services installation and maintenance techniques
  • To apply trade skills and experience, including one to one training to members of the team.
  • To ensure the satisfactory completion of statutory obligations and the completion of allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new and refurbishment works, all within the SLA and KPI’s applied to site
  • To take on AP/RP roles where appropriate skills are held, or training provided
  • Carry out testing and inspection to City & Guilds 2391 standard
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Must be HV & LV AP qualified
  • Experience in building services and knowledge of air handling plant and water hygiene is required
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous with knowledge of medical gases
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with strong computer skills
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, formal training an advantage

Gas Compliance Manager

Equans is looking for a Gas Compliance Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Responsibility for managing the Gas contract on Birmingham City Council Contract
  • Responsibilities will include producing a monthly report to the Head Of Operations highlighting all developments and progress etc in the previous month
  • Manage our dedicated gas contractor’s performance on servicing, repairs and Installs (on over 38,000 properties) ensuring compliance with legislation, KPIs and wider contract requirements
  • Maintain regular contact with our Contractors, Client and any supervisory staff in order to improve contract delivery and maintain compliance
  • Auditor of Responsible Persons (RP), Appointed Persons (AP) and Competent Persons (CP) as required, confirming all gas work is carried out in compliance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations and industry standards
  • Carry out audits of gas work under their area of control and provide reports to the Head of Operations

Quantity Surveyor


EQUANS is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Hatfield, this is a full time permanent role.  On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package. 

We have scattered properties across Brent and Wembley you will be visiting therefor a driving license is required.

This role is to work as part of our refurbishment team on social housing properties, you will be working on Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) works. You will be responsible for managing your own jobs working on projects of circa 5 million.

We are looking for someone to begin their career with Equans and progress in their role. We would consider a strongly established Project QS looking to progress into a QS.

 

What will you deliver? 

    • Management and control of subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts in line with the main contract and sub-contract data base
    • Post-tender internal and external pricing analysis/assessment for sign-off whilst ensuring within budget
    • Conduct contract risk and opportunity assessment to identify these areas and plan for them accordingly to ensure pricing remains on budget without undermining Health and Safety.
    • Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information (collateral warranties, PCG’s, etc)
    • Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects.
    • Commercial reporting / CVRs completed independently to be submitted for MQS approval
    • Logical and auditable preparation of relevant documentation for valuation, procurement and commercial administration

Service Manager (Soft FM)

We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Facilities department for a Service Manager (Soft FM) to manage our security and helpdesk teams at King's College London in Waterloo.   

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further their career in FM by gaining experience in a highly professional and corporate environment. 

This is a permanent position working 40 hours p/week, 8 hours per day (rostered for 9 hours with a 1 hour unpaid break) between 07:00 and 22:00, 5 days from 7.

Key Activities:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager (Soft FM)
  • To assist with ensuring the smooth running of the Security and Admintration departments across King’s College London and associated contracts.
  • Assist in managing all aspects of service production and delivery.
  • Participate in the duty pool to ensure all services are covered across the entire week and
    24/7.
  • Co-ordinate staff rotas and schedules to ensure optimum economic and operational coverage is maintained
  • Ensure that the department’s budget and service contract is met
  • Ensure an effective and professional service operating to a high degree of accuracy
  • Assist in the recruitment, induction and ongoing training, development and motivation of staff.
  • Working 40 hours per week, 5 days from 7, Monday to Sunday

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have prior experience of supervising / managing security or helpdesk staff
  • Must hold valid SIA licence; CCTV licence desirable

Finance & Billing Analyst

EQUANS is looking for a Finance & Billing Analyst to join our team based at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,000 per annum, dependant upon skills and experience as well as benefits package. 

Reporting to the Performance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering in line with the business’s financial processes across the Sandwell and West Birmingham contract. Must have a “can do” attitude with the flexibility and adaptability to be a team member in a changing business environment. The ability to work to tight deadlines related to month end and billing periods. Expected to work on own initiative, managing tight deadlines and have excellent time management and  organisational skills. Be versatile and adaptive, reacting to changing customer and business  requirements. Readily accept responsibility for new initiatives as dictated by the business.

 

What will you deliver? 

  • Management of WIP through running WIP reports and ensuring costs are captured accurately, including parts and materials 
  • Review and manage outstanding costs for billable jobs
  • Issue WIP reports on a monthly basis to the Trust and actively partake in these, responding to queries from the Trust
  • Collate and issue payment application to the Trust in line with contractual timescales
  • Review of purchase orders raised for accuracy and validation and feedback any discrepancies to the admin team. Provide further training/coaching as required
  • Undertake POEM and GRIR reviews and work with the administration team to ensure supplier invoice queries are resolved
  • Train the administration team on how to use Coupa to raise purchase orders for the contract
  • Liaise with the Helpdesk team/Maximo reports to establish status of jobs prior to billing
  • Serve as a link between Operations and Finance in providing prompt feedback to queries raised
  • Prepare internal orders for billing
  • Raise and issue all invoices to the Client across Lots 1 to 4 and ensure these are chased for payment, flagging any issues to the Finance Business Partner and Contract Services Manager
  • Close Internal orders in SAP
  • Log and track all contract notifications issued by the Trust ensuring these are logged within the contractual timescales and issued to the Management team for action
  • Maintain the Contract Notification register and report on the status to the Management team
  • Ensure all billing associated with Contract notifications is processed accordingly
  • Feed into the monthly and annual reporting process for the contract providing analysis on costs against the estate care categories
  • Link in with the necessary support functions such as Procurement and Commercial to deliver the outputs as required in the role
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Business Support team, Finance Team and Contract Management Team.

Multi Skilled Plumber

Equans is looking for a Multi Skilled Plumber to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working in Partnership with Birmingham City Council on their repairs and maintenance contract on social housing. Customer Liaison Officer

Equans is looking for a Customer Liaison Officer to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • To provide consultation and support to residents prior to, during and after works to their homes, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Managing the customer/resident journey whilst following the client and company engagement procedures
  • To develop effective working relationships with residents, clients, subcontractors, site-based personnel, local stakeholders, the local community and the Customer Care Department
  • Carry out choice events, consultation events and individual consultation with residents regarding future work.
  • Carry out individual resident inductions to include - introduction to Equans, the CLO/RLO
    process, scope of works, property and personal belongings condition surveys inclusive of photographs for evidence
  • Complete resident profiling and work with the site management team to implement effective working practices and discuss with the Client’s customer care team where appropriate
  • Agree access arrangements with the resident and book appointments to enable the work to their home
  • Organise and provide support needs: packing boxes, dust sheets, storage and other facilities
    as required and agreed.
