Equans is working closely in partnership with the National Lottery following a successful bid for an 18-month project.

Changing people’s lives since 1994, this is your opportunity to contribute on a significant part of the United Kingdom’s history. This project will see the installation of brand-new hardware and removal of existing hardware at over 44,000 retails throughout the UK.

Equans is looking for Supervisor to join our team in a Mobile capacity cover various retailer sites across North of England, based in Darlington and offer support to the field team of installers covering this area of the country on a 16 Month Fixed Term contract. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £31,000 per annum and you will receive an excellent benefits package.

 


What will you deliver? 

  • The role involves the Installation and deinstallation of National Lottery equipment across the UK and Ireland at Circa 44,000 retailers.
  • Requirement to support the field team as and when, and to also provide labour on the project
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time within the stipulated scope and budget.
  • Managing the field team closely and dealing with any issues
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Support the Logistics Manager in developing a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties for the flawless execution of project.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate project management tools.
  • Report and escalate to senior management as and when needed.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Carrying out the training required to support the role within the site contract.
  • To support the logistics manager in the deinstallation and installation of all the new National Lottery hardware across the UK, Ireland and surrounding isles ensuring all available resources work in a collaborative manner.
  • To work with the dedicated teams in planning, implementing, and monitoring the standards of all works relating to the schedule and BAU
  • To establish, operate and maintain procedures for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitor and review of the services.
  • To work with operational management to develop performance measurement and improvement objectives in line with business plan through positive collaboration.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Must have a full clean driver’s licence.
  • Team working experience.
  • Line Management experience & would be beneficial if you have some installation experience.
  • Ability to manage both customer and team expectations.
  • Work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise and organise.
  • The enthusiasm to learn and take on a challenge.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
  • Experience of using a CAFM system.
  • Fluent in English both written and oral.

Mobile Electrician

Equans is looking for a Mobile Electrician to join our team in Dudley on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience, company vehicle and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection of electrical and electronic systems, plant and equipment
  • Carry out planned preventable maintenance (PPM) on electrical and electronic systems plant and equipment in accordance with the PPM programme
  • Respond in a timely manner to breakdown requests
  • Administer installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works
  • Participate in emergency on-call rota
  • Respond in a safe manner to the effects of bad weather, e.g. snow clearing, gritting, flooding, high winds where required etc.

Who are we looking for?

  • Previously worked within a maintenance environment, ideally Healthcare or Education
  • Qualified to 18th Edition IEE Regulations
  • Testing & Inspection ideal but not essential
  • Knowledge of HTM desirable but not essential
  • Multi skilled experience in Fabric or Mechanical would be advantageous
  • Effective communication skills as you will be working in operational sites, where your awareness will be tested
  • Willingness to become LVAP and other AP role where required
  • Recognised apprenticeship in relevant engineering discipline
  • GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent
  • Prepared to work out of hours as necessary
  • Prepared to travel to other sites within the Company
  • Possess a current valid driving licence

Carpenter

EQUANS are recruiting for a Carpenter to be based in College Road, Kingstanding, to work on repairs and maintenance for Birmingham City Council properties throughout the North district of Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Mobile Technical Operative - Fabric

EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Technical Operative (Fabric) and this will be based in Swansea. This is a permanent full-time role for our HMCTS contracts working 40 hours per week. On offer for this role is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include –
• Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
• Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
• Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
• Inspect/replace luminaries
• Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
• Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
• Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
• General site services; to include, sweeping and tidying
• Carry out Ad-Hoc activities supporting EQUANS and Client team including Moves/Changes

Other responsibilities will include:
• Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. 
• Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
• Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding planned and reactive activities and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
• To develop a good working relationship with all members of EQUANS staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
• Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
• Ensure the professional image of EQUANS is presented to clients at all times
• Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of EQUANS are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
• Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site carrying out associated Fabric tasks 
• To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
• To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
• Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
• Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
• Ensure CAFM system, e.g. PlanOn, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
• To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
• The position will require you to provide support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

Client/Customer
• Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests
• Production of information for quotations
 
Helpdesk - PPM 
• Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive activities
• Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract if required

Compliance 
• To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP and Water Hygiene CP to permit Lamp changing and L8 activities e.g tap flushing  
• Produce Condition / Dilapidation Reports as required for fabric assets
• Ensure supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur

SHEQ
• Comply with requests for information from SHEQ manager
• Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
• Ensue PPE is safe to use
• Report accident and near misses in a timely manner
• Ensure your test equipment is within calibration 
• Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works

Impact: 
Working to high standard of service, we require a fully reliable and competent Handyman/Fabric Tech who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing good quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.

Complexity:
The successful candidate will have the ability to work unaided and build rapports with end users and customers, promoting EQUANS’s values. 
• Have an excellent knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and/or painting/decorating techniques.
• Have an eye for detail and be conscious of quality standards.

Qualifications or Required Experience:  
Must have an NVQ (or similar) in one of the below –
• Plumbing 
• Carpentry 
• Decorating services 

Experience
• Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment. Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques. 
• Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g. tap flushing

Equans is looking for a Part time Morning Cleaner to join our team in Huntingdon Law Courts, PE29 3DW on a permanent basis. This is a part-time role working 10 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £10.90 per hour.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday  06.30-08.30 

What will you deliver?

  • To ensure an effective and efficient operation of cleaning services within the area allocated.
  • To clean required number of rooms and custody suite per day incl. vacuum cleaning, dusting, bathroom cleaning, replenish consumables, room doors, windowsill etc. according to the agreed rota system.
  • To clean all corridors incl. vacuum cleaning, fire extinguishers dusting and wall marks.
  • To clean kitchens within the allocated area incl. microwaves and fridges.
