  • Ensure all jobs are prepared for invoicing correctly and timeously
  • Manage WIP (Work in Progress)
  • Good Customer facing Experience
  • Support the Contract Manager
  • Prepare for and Lead Monthly Client Progress meetings
  • Required to write monthly Operational reports and hold site/Client meetings in absence of Contract Manager
  • Deliver customer satisfaction in accordance with the agreed KPI’s mandated under the SLA/Contract
  • Taking appropriate action as required and being prepared for contingencies
  • Encourage self-development to improve both own performance and that of the team.

Complexity:

  • Competent in managing water services within MSF’s including L8 sampling and recording thereafter.
  • Maintenance and repair of Mechanical & Electrical Systems.
  • Carry out Minor Electrical Installation work and complete appropriate Certification.
  • Fault finding and diagnostic skills a must.
  • Basic knowledge in building fabric repairs.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Must have a full clean drivers licence.
  • A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential.
  • Ideally IOSH qualified

Equans is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Smart Buildings Team based in the UK. This is a permanent full-time role working on National contracts for 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The position of Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the minimization of project costs to enhance value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality. The Quantity Surveyor will assist the site team in delivering energy infrastructure projects across Equans on time and within budget.

What will you deliver?

  • Financial Reporting – To interpret, create and maintain a CVR and EVA with the creation of regular budget reports. Able to develop forecasts (final position and cash flow)
  • Estimating - To develop estimates and feasibility studies with design input. Ability to prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • Commercial Negotiation - Performing risk and value management. Management of the end-to-end payment processes, complaint with the Construction Act, with experience in preparing and reviewing key documents such as applications for payment, payment notices and pay less notices. Ability to critically evaluate and identify valuations. Competent in the issuing of formal notifications. Competent with dispute resolution.
  • Contract knowledge - Wide understanding of model form contracts (JCT/MF1/NEC etc). Ability to identify the most appropriate form of contract for the given use. Competence to ensure projects meet legal and quality standards, including knowing when to seek specialist advice from the internal Commercial and or Legal Teams.

Commissioning Manager

EQUANS are recruiting for a Commissioning Manager to join our Urban Energy Team, the role will be Hybrid between home and our office in Kings Yard, London.  This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £55,00 to £60,000, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

This role will demand a high standard of technical, operational and systems excellence. Understanding of the commissioning process, commercial and compliance elements of the successful operation of large scale energy schemes.

 

 

What will you deliver?

 

  • Manage the adoption team and process for accepting and ensuring 3rd party installations and assets meet EQUANS performance and design standards while engaging and managing Clients and Key Stakeholders.
  • Ensure that new projects are commissioned correctly in accordance with EQUANS Standards. 
  • Manage contract resources to assist in project commissioning.
  • Assist the projects team in managing the commissioning process of complex systems in the form of commissioning manager
  • Assist with energy system performance investigations to identify improvements to optimize.
  • To investigate and identify the root cause of plant performance degradation and recommend/implement solutions. 
  • Provide technical support to the project and operational teams.
  • Drive and maintain a high standard in Health and Safety
  • Planning and programming of works
  • Ensuring the quality and processes used within EQUANS for commissioning and adoptions are complete
  • Ensuring the quality management of the delivery of commissioning and adoptions are delivered

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Motivated and professional engineer who wishes to commit to a role which will provide both opportunity and challenge
  • Qualified to a minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical or equivalent Engineering Discipline or equivalent proven experience.
  • Proven records in commissioning of large operational energy schemes.
  • Technical experience of the design and operation of energy schemes/centres, heating and cooling systems, CHPs, boilers, utilities, etc
  • IOSH qualification 
  • Knowledge of Controls (BMS, Trend, SCADA), VSDs and Metering Systems  
  • Knowledge of energy software and some programming (e.g. Energy Pro, VBA, Python) would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the CIBSE, Electrical and UK regulatory Standards
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders and clients directly
  • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks
  • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Chartership status from a respective institute would be an advantage

EQUANS are recruiting for Pre-Commissioning Engineers to be based within our Smart Buildings Team in The South. These are fixed term roles for 3 years working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £32,000 to £35,500 dependant upon skills and experience plus benefits package.  

Smart Buildings have a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades / enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education & government sectors - across the country. In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become ‘Smart enabled’, meaning we can then introduce further value across sites via our IoT solutions; driving social, economic and environmental benefits to portfolios of sites and more importantly people operating and living within them.

For broader context, the DIO (on behalf of the Ministry of Defence) are responsible for enabling defence people to … live, work, train and deploy at home and overseas, with a vision to equip defence with a significantly smaller, more efficient, better quality estate.

In relation to scale, each project ranges from £1 – 2m worth of works and there are multiple projects available as part of a 3-4 year rolling programme so helping to define and grow the team to support will also be a significant part of the role.

In this role you will be accountable and responsible for driving a capital change programme off the back of the low level design surveys … in time and on budget as a minimum, with a paramount focus on performance (via a hybrid model of outsourced installation via approved DIO SMEs, with commissioning of base + smart tech delivered in house to begin), regular communications and an ability to drive lifecycle value for money opportunity, through data analysis.

  • The pre commissioning the installation of BEMS and Control systems in line with Customer design requirements and those outlined by the Project Engineer / Commissioning Engineer, within agreed timescales.
  • Supporting and maintaining a collaborative working environment with internal & external customers and stakeholders including the more junior resources that may require buddying support.
  • Validating the software strategies and graphics created by the dedicated applications resource.
  • Set up baseline wiring to points, material installation & checks / balances before we turn a panel live.
  • Provide technical support to other trades and sub-contractors.
  • Carry out trouble shooting to diagnose system defects.
  • Involvement with customer’s validation processes and execution as part of Commissioning works and Project handover procedures.
  • Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health and safety standards on-site.

  • Excellent communication skills and report writing are essential to maintain strong relationships with all team members and customers.
  • You’ll have great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to think laterally and creatively to develop innovative solutions to challenges and identify opportunities for improvement and advantage.

Mobile Maintenance Operative

EQUANS are recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Operative to be based in Bristol. This is a permanent full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

General Overview:

  • To carry out all PPM and Reactive repairs, as necessary across Health Care sites in Bristol and Oxford
  • Liaise with the helpdesk in relation to Reactive Work Orders

  • Complete relevant paperwork and report diligently.
  • Responsible for all record keeping, control of sub-contractors and raising and issuing of safety documentation as required.

  • Monitor new developments plots in the locality of existing heat networks and gain intelligence at pre planning phase to influence the developers planning energy statement to connect to the network.

  • Manage various internal and external stakeholders and parties including Local Authorities, Developers, Developers consultants, planners, landowners, Internal Project team, internal decarbonisation teams, internal estimating, and development engineering resource
  • Ensure CDM gateway is fully populated by the Development teams up to handover to Projects to ensure legal compliance
  • Use the Development engineers to create Concept designs to RIBA stage 2/3 and facilitate early engagement with the developer to ensure coordination with developer designs
  • Use the Development Engineers and estimators to create a financial model for the new connections and use in the governance process. Understand the detail of the modelling, any anomalies, and key financials such as Net margin, IRR, energy margin, cashflow across the term of the agreement. Use output to inform the deal that is proposed to the developer in line with business expectations
  • Understand risks and mitigations, and lead negotiations with developers & their consultants on template and non-standard Connection and Supply Agreements in line with governance, supported by Commercial and Legal teams, to contract execution
  • Ensure company tools such as salesforce are kept up to date with latest information and create monthly connection reports
  • Provide information used to create budgets and financial plans based on detailed knowledge of influencing factors
  • Strategy and decarbonisation as required to enable new connections can be made to existing schemes
