Assistant Site Manager
Equans is looking for a Assistant Site Manager to join our team in Winsford on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.50 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Main Purpose
To assist the site team to manage the building project in accordance with agreed timescales, quality and cost.
To develop excellent relationships with customers and assist in managing the Supply Chain. At the same time you will develop your own working knowledge through on site experience and further education via day release.
To assist the site team to manage a contract which has variable value ranges.
To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy.
Key Accountabilities
- Adherence to the Company quality standards including:
- Management of defects
- Fully understand the Construction Phase Plan Requirements, including its development
- Compliance with specification
- Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
- Subcontractor code of conduct
- Assist with the preparation of the Health and Safety file
- Be in full control of delegated responsibility
- Read and understand Specification, Drawings, Preliminaries, Preambles and Contract Documentation
- To assist the site team with the Completion of the Contract in accordance with the agreed Plan and Programme
- Ensure own compliance of all Company policies and procedures
- Assist the site team to ensure current Safety, Health and Welfare requirements are met and implemented
- Develop personal understanding of construction issues
- Understand and implement the Company Quality Assurance system
- Adhere to the Keepmoat Way of Doing Business
- Assist the site team to monitor orders and deliveries to ensure that all materials are available when required
- Assist the site team to complete Weekly GRN reports electronically
- Assist the site team to ensure that materials are supplied and fixed in accordance with Contract Specification
- Store all materials in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations, so as to minimise loss and wastage
- Advise Buying Department of any materials that are likely to be surplus at least one month before Contract Completion
- Assist the site team to order correct materials in sufficient time to ensure their availability when required
- Assist the site team to ensure sub-contractors are kept advised of Site requirements
- Assist site team to distribute information & receive information from the subcontractors
- Keep Senior Site staff / Contracts Manager advised of all problems with sub-contractors
- Assist the site team to draft construction and short term programmes using IT based software in conjunction with the Planning Department
- Assist the site team to up-date the Construction Programme weekly indicating the progress to date
- Assist the site team to ensure progress is recorded on the standard Company records
- Assist the site team to collate daily allocation sheets
- Assist the site team to record daily labour levels on site
- Assist the QS dept with the implementation of the Operatives Bonus system
- Assist the site team to keep weekly record of onsite plant
- Ensure that Plant on site is of good quality and working efficiently
- Ensure all Plant Drivers are approved in accordance with the current regulations
- Ensure all certification is valid and up-to-date
- Assist the site team to ensure that the Site Offices and Storage Compound reflects a professional image for the Company having:
- Well displayed Company signboards.
- Tidy and effective Compound fencing.
- Direction signs from the nearest main road.
- Adequate security measures
- Assist the site team to ensure all company vehicles are kept in a clean and tidy condition. Vans kept on site including personnel carriers are to be inspected weekly and any damage reported immediately, in accordance with the Company Procedure
- Co-operate closely with design team, customers, sub-contractors and suppliers and maintain good working relationships
- Work closely with all departments and staff within the business to ensure the efficient running of the business
- Understand and monitor economical working methods
- Pass details of all instructions received on site to Senior Site staff / Contracts Manager
- Give feedback to Senior Site staff / Contracts Manager of actual preliminaries expenditure
- Attend monthly Cost Meetings when requested and agree contribution forecast
- Assist the site team to ensure that all of the works are handed over to the customer
- Leave all work areas cleared of building rubbish and reinstate gardens and footpaths, etc in accordance with contract requirements
- Agree with Senior Site staff / Contracts Manager how any surplus materials are to be disposed of
- Carry out duties including administration and dealing with correspondence
- Fill in Weekly Report
- Complete Weekly Progress Monitor
- Maintain and update Construction Phase Health & Safety plan as works proceed
- Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc
- Safe storage and co-ordination of materials
- Be responsible for your safety and others around you
- Make every effort to attend all mandatory courses related to your role
- Comply with all the roles and responsibilities as set out within the SHEQ management system
- To be responsible for the accurate / timely completion of site based documentation
- Any other reasonable management request

General Overview
To deliver a high performing Refurbishment Service including the monitoring of a team of Trade Operatives and Sub-Contractors. Responsible for the supervision of a team of trade operatives and sub-contractors delivering a wide range of Refurbishment works. Responsible for the efficient use of resources and ensuring that, job planning, appointments, resource allocation, materials, plant and equipment are effectively utilised and continuously improved in accordance with service delivery targets. The Site Manager is also responsible for bringing to the attention of the Contracts Manager any arrangements/proposals that will improve job control, operational performance, relationships with Clients representatives and maximise the utilisation of the Company’s IT system
What will you deliver?
- Support the Contracts Manager in compiling all pre-start information
- Achieve the target contributions by managing the contract in accordance with the contract documents and programme
- Responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality, whilst exceeding client expectations and maximising profit
- Provide structured approach to project planning; to include health and safety, execution methods and quality
- Provide project & weekly programme information and KPI’s and feed back into monitoring and reporting systems
- Attendance, preparation and reporting for all meetings in relation to the project
- To have a clear understanding of the way the job is priced to enable us to take full benefit of any opportunities for variations, change is specification or scope of works to maximise profit
- Take ownership for the swift and effective resolution of customer complaints - escalating issues to the Contracts Manager where appropriate

Voids Production Manager (North/West)
EQUANS are recruiting for a Production Manager to be based in Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.
General Overview:
The Production Manager fulfils a critical role within the organisation and is responsible for operational activity within the Voids Maintenance team and the management of a number of direct reports including Site Managers, Contract Delivery Supervisors, Surveyors and other Officers and subordinates as necessary.
Key Objectives:
- Providing support, mentoring and continual guidance for the team, reporting back to the Operations Manager where needed.
- Ensure all activities meet with requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care – seeking further advice where appropriate.
- Ensure that all role profiles and daily disciplines for direct / indirect reports are executed to the required standards.
- Undertake appraisals and 1 to 1’s to capture the development needs of each individual, with a focus on succession planning.
- To either mobilise or provide absence cover in accordance with your job role and position within the organisation.
- Manage and liaise with the client to build effective relationships to retain contracts and instigate organic business growth.
- Recommend necessary changes to improve performance based on analysis of weekly/daily Key Performance Indicator statistics.
- Maintain minimum resource levels to achieve internal commercial and safety targets without compromising customer requirements.
- Escalate any issue of concern/potential concern to the Operations Manager as required to ensure a pro-active approach is maintained and service delivery is not impacted.

- To work closely with the contract Quantity Surveyor ensuring accurate cost and employee allocation.
- Work closely with other Managers to improve service delivery, identify commercial opportunities, make efficiencies in operational processes and maximise the resources available allocating them to the benefit of the Company.

Void Contract Delivery Supervisor
EQUANS is looking for a Voids Contract Delivery Supervisor to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate would assist the Site Manager in the delivery of a high performing, effective and efficient Responsive Repairs and Maintenance Service including the monitoring of a team of Trade Operatives and Sub-Contractors in partner. What will you deliver?
- Providing support, mentoring and continual guidance for the team, reporting back to the Production Manager where needed
- Ensure all activities meet with requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care – Seeking further advise where appropriate
- Undertake appraisals to capture the development needs of each individual, with a focus on succession planning
- To either mobilise or provide absence cover in accordance with your Job role and position within the organisation
- Ensure the Production Manager is notified of any underperforming employee/Sub-Contractor within the team so where applicable they can be coached/mentored/disciplined as required in order to achieve desired standards, appropriate time keeping, productivity and compliance with the Company’s values and employee handbook

- De l’approbation de l’ensemble des documents d’exécution et courriers clients
- De la gestion de configuration
- Des consultations et achats de matériel, de la mise en place des contrats d’achats ou de sous-traitance
- De l’organisation des rendez-vous de chantiers, des réunions d’avancement, des revues, des réceptions techniques sur site

Gestion
Vous êtes responsable :
- De l’établissement des situations et facturation, de l’optimisation des délais de paiement clients en collaboration avec le service gestion
- De la vérification et l’approbation des factures fournisseurs, du bilan financier et prévisionnel de vos affaires en particulier du chiffre d’affaires, de la marge brute, des indicateurs financiers (écarts comptables, PAR/PCA, créances échues, ….)
- Vous participez à l’élaboration des visées trimestrielles

Vous concernant
De formation Ingénieur / Bac+5 , vous possédez une expérience significative de plus de 10 ans en conduite de travaux / assistanat RA, dans le domaine de la construction Tous Corps d’Etat pendant laquelle, vous avez acquis :
- La relation commerciale,
- Le management de projets,
- La gestion financière et contractuelle d’affaires,
- L’animation d’équipe et la maîtrise technique
- Un solide socle de connaissances techniques sur la construction ;
- La rigueur ;

Site Supervisor
EQUANS are recruiting for a Site Supervisor to be based in Grimsby DN37. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £35,000 - £40,000, dependent upon skills and experience.
Main Accountabilities
- As Site Supervisor, responsibility for day-to-day supervision of Highway Projects.
- Where appointed, support the EQUANS Project Leads and Professional Services’ teams in the delivery of schemes
- Manage and co-ordinate workload to achieve project deliverables within the agreed time, quality, and financial objectives.
- Produce daily site records including diaries & photo records. Diaries to focus on site activities and progress against Contractor programme.
- On all projects, facilitate the Supervisor role within NEC3 and NEC4 contracts. This includes site inspections, identifying defects and recording defects through an NEC contract management system. In addition applicants with Knowledge of JCT contract administration would be an advantage.
- Manage and monitor the onsite testing of materials and co-ordinating of material acceptance in line with the specification of the works information
- Assist the NEC Project manager produce highlight reports and attend monthly progress meetings.
- Carry out pre-design site walk through with the design team to input on the design
- Assist the Engineer in the preparation of information and pre-construction phase health and safety plans for tender packages.
- Engage in early contractor involvement with subcontractors.
- Deliver the service in line with quality management procedures and demonstrate an understanding of the principles behind these.
- Support the Design Consultancy in delivering improved services, and promote and instil EQUANS values

- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly, conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative in managing workload, be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills and the attitude, conduct and demeanour to reflect EQUANS values.
