Facilities Management Apprentice
EQUANS is looking for a Facilities Management Apprentice to join our team based at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth on an Apprenticeship (2 year) basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £25,000 per annum, a qualification in CMI Level 5 - Management and leadership training and benefits package.
The role provides the opportunity to gain valuable practical and skilled experience in facilities management and to study for a professional qualification. Being a part of the Facilities Management team, the role will require learning the technical and practical aspects of Facilities Management and putting these skills and knowledge into practice as required and directed.
What will you deliver?
- Ensure that the job role expertise is seen as a resource within and outside the business and form working partnerships within FM services and the Trust, with an emphasis on customer interface
- Liaise with the Service Managers and related functions to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated
- Build and sustain effective communications with other roles and stakeholders and clients as required
- Carry out given tasks as directed and required, seeking advice and support as necessary, in addition overseeing contractors works when necessary and as directed
- Support in the provision of maintenance and control of all documentation relating to Training within Soft and Hard FM at QAH, this includes all current and future requirements
- Make best use of technology, gaining an understanding of the CAFM system, Door Access system and others as required
- Proactively manage forthcoming problems, notifying the Service Managers of issues that may affect the provision of the service
- Must be able to deal with staff and customers in various situations which may be stressful or emotional
- Take responsibility when ready to plan own work tasks
- Support the business wide strategy regarding Responsible Business initiatives and Net Carbon Zero
- Participate in Manager Safety Visits (MSVs) across the contract
- Undertake other tasks as may be reasonably required from time to time.

General Maintenance Operative
Equans is looking for a General Maintenance Operative on a permanent basis for our HMCTS contracts in Manchester - this is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Equans provide technical and soft services to our client HMCTS across a large portfolio of buildings across the UK. As part of the service, we provide low voltage electrical maintenance and installation services, and because of business growth, we are recruiting for additional roles to provide these services for our customer
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include –
• Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
• Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
• Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
• Inspect/replace lamps / tubes
• Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
• Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
• Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
• Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
• Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
• Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
• Carry out reactive / Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
• Escorting contractors
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
- Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding planned and reactive activities and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
- Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
- To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
- Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
- Ensure the professional image of Equans is presented to clients at all times
- Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
- Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site carrying out associated Fabric tasks
- To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
- To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
- Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
- Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
- Ensure CAFM system, e.g. Maximo, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
- To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
- The position will require you to provide support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

• Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests

Helpdesk - PPM
• Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive activities
• Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract if required
Compliance
• To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP and Water Hygiene CP to permit Lamp changing and L8 activities e.g. tap flushing
• Produce Condition / Dilapidation Reports as required for fabric assets
• Ensure supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur
SHEQ
• Comply with requests for information from SHEQ manager
• Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
• Ensue PPE is safe to use
• Report accident and near misses in a timely manner
• Ensure your test equipment is within calibration
• Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works
Impact:
Working to high standard of service, we require a fully reliable and competent Handyman/Fabric Tech who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing good quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.
Complexity:
The successful candidate will have the ability to work unaided and build rapports with end users and customers, promoting EQUANS' values.
Have an excellent knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and/or painting/decorating techniques.
Have an eye for detail and be conscious of quality standards.
Qualifications or Required Experience:

Experience
Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment. Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques.

Working Supervisor
Equans is looking for a Working Supervisor to join our team in Woodland View Hospital - Irvine on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role holder will have the required mechanical or electrical maintenance knowledge and supervisory experience having completed a recognised apprenticeship, to undertake / assist in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of electrical supplies, building systems, plant, equipment, fabric and grounds as part of a flexible maintenance team; responsible, through the line management structure to the Technical Services Manager.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for carrying out and controlling the day to day planned maintenance, reactive repair, minor project works and procurement of materials and contracted works within Woodland View Hospital, based primarily within the Woodland View Hospital on a permanent basis with flexibility required to support other Equans sites as and when requested by the Contract TSM.
- To work in accordance with the requirements of Equans rules for the Safe Operation of Low Voltage, Mechanical, Pressure, Water, Medical Gas and Confined Spaces. To work in accordance with the requirements of Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM’s) and any other relevant statutory compliance requirements.
- Actively participate in the operation and control of all planned maintenance schemes in support of the business and contract needs.
- Manage responses to any unplanned events in a timely fashion and in accordance with the SLA response and rectification time’s thus ensuring minimal failures resulting in financial penalties and contractual service failure points.
- Supervise, control planned and reactive electrical/ mechanical maintenance tasks, carry out small work and variation requests, and any other tasks deemed reasonable and within the capabilities of the individual at the request of the senior management team. This will include but is not limited to, electrical systems, generators, emergency lighting.
- Required to cover on-call

Who are we looking for?
- Must have successfully completed a recognised Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship and have previous experience in a similar role carrying out maintenance duties.
- Hospital maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
- Be competent to supervise/undertake/assists/work on the type of building service systems and equipment for which the appointment is sought.
- Familiar with the type of systems and equipment on which work is required to be undertaken. Possess technical knowledge and sufficient experience to avoid any danger that may be presented by the work to be undertaken. Have an adequate knowledge of and within the preceding three years have received training in first aid (including CPR Training). If not held, training will be given.

Vos missions :

A la tête d’une équipe de monteurs, vous êtes le garant de l’ensemble des prestations de chantier (approvisionnement, montage, mise en service…) dans le respect de la sécurité, des délais et de la qualité.
Polyvalent, vous êtes également chargé d’assurer l’entretien et le dépannage (hydrauliques, électriques, asservissements) des réseaux sprinklers et RIA de nos clients ainsi que de rédiger les rapports détaillés.
Votre profil :
De formation technique (CAP à Bac pro) ou d'une expérience spécialisée dans le sprinkler, la tuyauterie industrielle, le CVC ou la plomberie, vous justifiez d’une expérience réussie dans le suivi de travaux ou de contrats de maintenance.
Vous maîtrisez impérativement les techniques de montage, la lecture des plans et les normes « métiers » en vigueur.
Autonomie, capacité d’adaptation, et disponibilité sont des atouts essentiels pour réussir dans cette fonction qui implique également une forte aptitude au management d’équipes de terrain.
